David Lynch "The Angriest Dog in the World" (1983-1992)

上世紀八十三年至九十二年,美國導演David Lynch在報刊上連載四格漫畫The Angriest Dog in the World,這裡是其中一少部份。此漫畫特別之處是每段畫面相同,只是更改了文字。水平所限,貧僧的翻譯難免有錯誤,因此每段之下列出英語原文,請多多指教。

The Angriest Dog in the World

The dog who is so angry he cannot move. He cannot eat. He cannot sleep. He can just barely growl....Bound so tightly with tension and anger, he approaches the state of rigor mortis.

There is usually a reason for everything.

In gravitational fields there are no such things as rigid bodies with Euclidean properties.
That's really, really, really damn good to know.

Bill...Suddenly, for me, the idea of a straight line has lost its meaning.

If we pick up a stone and then let it go, why does it fall to the ground?...
...The usual answer to this question is:
"Hey man, who gives a shit?"

It must be clear even to the non-mathematician that the things in this world just don't add up to beans.

Bill...Monopoly jam?
What the hell is that?
They say it's a game preserve.

Curiously, due to the fact that we have recently discovered that Pete is a bonafide idiot...
We can now appreciate why his arguments are not convincing.

Green wood shrinks.

Some weeks nothing is funny.

Why is Pete wearing a helmet?
Because life goes in cycles.
