Dear teachers and students,
I've come here and I'm talking.
I'm looking at you and you're looking at me.
In this way every word of me going into your heart.
Some look at the floor while they're giving a speech.
Maybe they're shy.
It looks like that they're talking with the floor.
It makes the audience yawn.
While giving a speech, you should stand steady.
Don't swing or move around.
Your swinging will disturb the audience so they can't concentrate on your speech.
That's why you should stand steady.
Stand steady but not stiff.
You should be expressive.
If you're talking about mountain-climbing, it will be better to be being lively.
If you're talking about a great man, showing respect on your face will make the speech better.
You should make good use of your hands.
Your hands are good helpers.
You may raise you hands in a gesture of high when you refer to a high mountain.
You may stretch out your arms when you refer to the thick trunk of a tree.
You may shake your fist and say: 'Don't let them bully us. Fight back!'
It seems that some people don't know where to place their hands when they're talking.
Sometimes they place their hands in the trouser-pockets.
Sometimes they place their hands behind their backs.
Some may even forget their hands.
They place their hands on the table throughout the speech.
They don't know how to make good use of their hands for the speech.
It puts them at a disadvantage.
If your expressions of eyes, hands and body are good, your speech will be better.
That's all I have to say.
What are the red colour pieces?
Are they bits of beautiful sunset glow from the west?
Are they blushes on little girls' cheeks?
No. They're the inverted reflections of leon lights.
They're waving on the sea.
What are the glittering dots?
Are they bright stars in the sky?
Are they rolling eyes of little girls?
No. They're shining lamps below Victoria Peak.
What is the rotating circle?
Is it the full moon in the sky?
Is it the sweet smiling face of a young lady?
No. It's the light shed from a ferris wheel.
What are the waving ribbons?
Are they white clouds beside the Milky Way?
Are they of a young lady's long skirt?
No. They're waves on Victoria Harbour.
Lam and Zoeng were close friends.
They went together for outings frequently.
One day they were strolling in a mountain forest.
Suddenly they met a black bear.
It was a critical moment.
Zoeng climbed up a tree immediately.
Lam was unable to climb trees.
Zoeng didn't help him.
The bear was coming up.
Lam knew that he couldn't escape.
He lay on the ground and feigned death.
The bear went up to him.
It thought that Lam was dead.
It took a smell at him and then went away.
Zoeng saw that the black bear had gone far.
He climbed down the tree.
'What did the bear say?' he asked Lam.
Lam stood up and said: 'The black bear told me that don't be friends with a man who cares only for himself when danger comes.'
Interpersonal relationship needs to be dealt with carefully.
Some people get along very well and have strong emotional ties with each other.
It's not always by reason of benefits.
It may be because they treat each other with respect.
Sometimes a slightest disagreement can spoil a relationship.
We should know that people have different standpoints.
We have different judgments and so we behave differently.
Finding other people's behaviour or opinion different from themselves, some may condemn, ridicule or satirize others.
It's offending.
Some are not tolerant of different views.
They don't respect other people's views.
They are not democratic.
It's bad manners.
We all want to be respected.
We should respect others first.
How to respect others?
I think we should pay attention to the following points.
1. Having a good attitude towards others' opinions.
2. Being open to good suggestions.
3. If we disagree with others, explaining it properly, tactfully and frankly.
4. Not being a nuisance.
5. talking in a gentle way.
If you treat people in this way, people will respect you.
The lofty mountains are majestic.
They are imposing.
They are beautiful.
I feel myself insignificantly small.
I admire them wholeheartedly.
I really want to bring a mountain home.
I would like to daydream with it from time to time.
I would like to talk to it once in a while.
Majestic mountains!
I would like to have a mind as broad as you.
I would like to have a character as lofty as you.
They are meaningful essays。
